Eco-Friendly Tips to Try This Earth Day

#

Mark your calendar for April 22nd, and join us in celebrating Earth Day 2018! Here at HomeTech, we are constantly doing our best to leave a light footprint on the environment, and we challenge you to join us! Here are five simple eco-friendly tips that can help you save money, and help save the environment.

  1. Reusable Bags

Reusable bags are an easy way to lighten your impact on the environment. Plastic is a huge culprit of pollution. Plastic bags are often blowing down city streets, clogging up local waterways, and littering public areas. By making this small investment you can clean up the city, protect the environment, and now even some grocery stores offer rewards for bringing your own bag! Who doesn’t love rewards?

  1. Airplane Mode

This #hometechtip will help the planet, and your time management. Charging your electronic devices uses a huge amount of energy. By switching your phone to airplane mode you can drastically cut back on energy usage, and have your phone charged faster. This is a win, win!

  1. Drive Less

Whether it be biking, walking, or running — as long as it’s not driving — it’s helping! Reducing use of fuel and pollution is great, but also by breathing outside you are producing Co2 emissions that are great for the environment. So try to get outside and breathe at least once a week. 1. LED Bulbs

This hack can save energy and a lot of money. By replacing old bulbs with LED (light-emitting diodes) you can dramatically cut you energy consumption, and your electric bill. LEDs last about 10 years which means: less bulbs, less electricity, and a cheaper bill. There is really no reason not to switch!

  1. Go Paperless

Probably the easiest hack on our list is switching to paperless. We all know how much paper we get in the mail and then ultimately toss out. Most of us pay our bills online anyways, so why not switch to paperless billing? This hack is eco-friendly and can be done without much effort. Simply call your bill provider or go online to make the switch.
